Jedediah Ivy

I grew up in the redwood forests and beaches of the Mendocino coast. I’ve always enjoyed building with local materials and feel a pull toward a deeper connection with the wood I work with. I’ve often wondered what that relationship would feel like if approached with more patience and an appreciation for the unique character of each piece. There’s something profoundly fulfilling in knowing the tree from which the wood comes—milling it myself and transforming it into something that sparks joy in others. It’s that ‘tree-to-table’ experience, rooted in respect and craftsmanship that I wish to develop more while at the Krenov school.
