Gian Scarabino

Scarabino
Class of 2018
Seattle,
 WA

Every morning Gian comes to bench number 10 at the Krenov School to refine skills cultivated as a furniture maker in Seattle. As a former scenic artist for theater he is quick to find parallels between the lives we see on stage in which everything is a choice, a creation, and the lives we are able to make for ourselves through similar deliberate engagement. Like an actor finding their character in a detailed costume, standing straighter, perhaps, or emboldened by a fabric’s heavy hand, the way we live is enhanced when we make our surroundings a priority. Having most recently received an MFA from the University of California, Gian is eager to continue his education and will do so in Krenovian fashion, with curiosity, energy and uncertainty.
