James has been building things for quite sometime; civil marine construction, home building and cabinetmaking. As his interest in working wood grew, he decided to go straight to the source…trees. He purchased a sawmill and began to saw. As flitches came off the mill he started to better understand the possibilities wood offered. Eventually that led him to finer work and the desire to further hone his skills.
