My journey toward a sensitive approach to cabinetmaking began seven years ago with a year-long apprenticeship at the Inside Passage School of Fine Cabinetmaking, where I studied under resident craftsmen Robert Van Norman and his wife, Yvonne. Since then, I have continued to develop my practice in keeping with the traditions I was taught, and I have been fortunate to curate both a machine shop and a dedicated hand-tool room. Over the past three years, I owe much of my growth in the craft to my mentor, Jim Tolpin. Ever curious and viewing craft as a lifelong pursuit of learning, I feel honored to spend nine months at the Krenov School, where I look forward to being humbled and inspired by its knowledgeable instructors and fellow students.
