Chris Sallstrom

For the past ten years, I’ve worked in residential carpentry in Oakland, moving from swinging a hammer to managing complex build projects. My path with wood began over a decade ago at a climber’s hostel in Tenerife, Spain, where I first experienced the quiet satisfaction of working with my hands. I fell in love with crafting functional, beautiful pieces that bring warmth, character, and a sense of calm to a space. Joining the Krenov School represents an exciting next chapter—an opportunity to deepen my craft,  learn alongside a dedicated community of peers and instructors and ultimately share these skills to enrich the spaces and lives of my family, friends, and community.
