Class of 2016
San Francisco native Deirdre Visser is a career educator, artist, and curator with a focus on cultural pluralism and community-based arts. She first fell in love with wood as an undergraduate, dumpster-diving for old-growth Douglas fir torn out during campus remodels. Many years, many hundreds of board feet of recycled lumber, and countless tiny lath nails later, she is immensely grateful for a sabbatical year to pursue fine woodworking with a singular focus, and imagine how the work will shape her future.
