I’ve always loved wood furniture, particularly pieces that seem ‘honest’ — made from solid wood, joinery exposed, marks of the maker apparent. This type of furniture, which is well-built, yet humble, in which the craftsman took great care, gives a special sense of warmth and coziness to a home. After nine months of immersion at the Krenov school, I hope to emerge with the skills and confidence to build pieces like this.
