I was born and raised in the Lower East Side of New York City.

My interest in woodworking began with whittling and carving––my solution to an interest in the craft while living in a small studio apartment. Through the slow and meditative process of hand carving, I realized that I deeply enjoy working with wood as a medium and that it was something I wanted to pursue more seriously.

From there, I attended a program in New York called Brooklyn Woods, which gave me the formal skills to apply for an entry-level position at a production furniture company. Eventually, I was introduced to the writing of James Krenov, and then it was a sort of catalyst from there. Krenov’s writing and philosophy, along with the encouragement and guidance of my mentors and peers, inspired me to apply to the Nine-Month Program at The Krenov School.

I am extremely excited and grateful to attend the school here in Fort Bragg, surrounded by like-minded peers and teachers who share a passion for their craft.
