Steve grew up working on cars and helping his dad build decks and picnic tables around the house. This ignited an interest in making, fixing, and tinkering which grew into a degree in mechanical engineering and working for awhile performing mechanical maintenance on nuclear power plants around the US and Europe. When this got too intense and stressful, Steve packed his bags and flew to Singapore to bicycle across Asia and around Europe with a friend for 4 or so years, before settling down in Ireland for a spell.
Now looking to use his mechanical engineering background, and interest in designing and making to create meaningful and hopefully beautiful things, Steve is drawn to working with wood to make furniture and other useful objects. He is looking forward to soaking up the amazing spirit, energy, and creativity here at the Krenov School to continue to grow as a person and a designer maker.
